Background
Tracy Dyer started Dyer CPA PLLC in 2015 after a career that includes experience beginning as a tax and audit associate at a local accounting firm, an auditor at a Top 20 US Accounting Firm, an internal auditor with a public accounting company with projects in countries around the world, and controller at a multi-state privately-owned healthcare organization. Dyer CPA provides forensic accounting services with attorneys and clients related to marital dissolutions, business disputes, other matters; business valuations that are based on professional valuation standards; and tax preparation and tax planning services.
What is forensic accounting?
Forensic accounting can be defined as the application of accounting principles and theories to a legal issue. Forensic accountants are engaged to work legal cases involving marital dissolutions (divorces) in which there are marital assets that need to be allocated between the parties. Forensic accountants are also engaged to assist in settling business disputes, conduct fraud investigations, and other matters in which there are legal issues at hand.
Do I need a business valuation?
If you are a business owner, you may need to know the value of your business for matters involving divorce or business disputes. Knowing the value of your business is also very beneficial for business owners who are planning to retire and/or sell their business. Being proactive and knowing the value of your business before the time you are ready to sell can significantly increase the amount that you receive when you sell your business.
How can I save taxes?
Tax laws change every year for individuals and businesses. How can you save in taxes if you are a business owner, if you are not a business owner? Itemizing deductions, options involving retirement accounts, business purchases including vehicles and equipment are some of the ways that tax planning can save taxes.
